Over the past 19 years, our inclusive and personalised approach has seen more than 12,500 happy alumni thrive at school and go on to bright futures — and you can join us at any time year-round to transform your child’s learning journey.

Our approach

Education shaped around unique needs

At King’s InterHigh, we combine specialist SEN expertise, personalised learning, caring support, and a warm community to create a learning environment where your child can thrive.

Personalised learning

Our teaching is designed to be inclusive from the ground up. When you join our school, you can set up your child’s Inclusive Teaching Plan (ITP) so they get the support they need in every class. Every child has access to their personalised learning pathway to help them to master each topic in their own time.

Specialist expertise

Our dedicated SEN team brings specialist knowledge and genuine care to every student interaction. In addition to all the support built into our school, you can also access optional Enhanced Support Services like literacy classes, anxiety management workshops, and one-to-one counselling.

Nurturing environment

With live lessons from home, students can learn free from sensory overwhelm and pressure. We have customisable learning features and flexible participation options, as well as over 100 clubs and various social opportunities to connect with a diverse community and make friends.

Hear from our parents

Helen and Joanne both have children with special education needs that weren’t catered for in previous schools. See how King’s InterHigh has helped their children, and hear from our Head of SEN on our approach and support available.

Omari Mcqueen

16-year-old Omari McQueen is no stranger to breaking records, from earning the title of “Britain’s youngest TV chef” to starting his own vegan food company.

He’s also no stranger to breaking barriers, especially as an everyday student. Before finding his place with us at King’s InterHigh, Omari faced major obstacles in mainstream education. In one previous school, teachers told him he wasn’t “smart enough” to take his exams simply because of his dyslexia.

Millie Aked

16-year-old Millie joined King’s InterHigh all the way back in September 2020 when she started Year 8. As a neurodivergent student, the mainstream school environment simply wasn’t suited to her needs, and she found herself struggling.

Alongside achieving seven top IGCSEs at Grade 9 last year, Millie recently achieved an incredible feat: the highest mark in the world in IGCSE English Literature.

Mirko Aryee

For many students, the social side of school can be even more challenging than the academics. This was the case for Year 8 student Mirko, whose struggles with anxiety and social communication were holding him back from fully embracing school life.

Today, however, Mirko is now a confident young man who actively participates in class discussions, runs errands independently, and even feels confident enough to speak in front of large groups. His transformation has been remarkable, and according to Mirko’s mum Emanuela, it’s all down to our Enhanced Support Services at King’s InterHigh.

Maxwell Whitelock

Alongside the need to balance education with his career, for example, the traditional school environment also became a daily battleground for Maxwell, who has both ADHD and autism.

These were the struggles that led Maxwell and his mum, Emma, to King’s InterHigh. Read the full case study to see how online school has helped him thrive in more ways than one.

VAT charges explained

The UK Government has implemented a policy to charge VAT on independent schools taking effect from the 1st of January 2025. This VAT charge is payable by families who are based in, or access, King’s InterHigh from the UK. This change does not impact families who are based outside the UK and access King’s InterHigh from another country.

We understand the significant financial commitment you make in choosing our online school as well as how important it is to be able to financially plan. After careful review of the details of the legislation, we will support parents by absorbing costs ourselves, so that a slower phasing in of this unwelcome change reduces its financial impact on families.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year (starting September 2024), Inspired Education Group will absorb much of the 20% VAT charge. For the Spring and Summer terms when the 20% VAT will now apply, we will only pass on 8.5% to families, taking up the difference ourselves.

To further support families with the financial implications of this change in government policy, for the 2025-2026 academic year (starting in September 2025) there will be no inflationary tuition fee increases, and that Inspired Education Group will continue to absorb costs to limit the increase to 8.5% for that academic year. Overall, this will mean we have phased in 17% of the 20% VAT cost over two years to avoid sudden increases for families and have not increased tuition fees.

King’s InterHigh is committed to offering competitive fees and accessible, high-quality independent education, along with the unique benefits of online learning. We are pleased that through careful cost control and the benefits of being part of Inspired, the leading global group of premium schools, we can significantly reduce the financial effect on families due to this change in UK VAT policy.
