I joined King’s InterHigh as they offered to cater for high achieving students; having taken my KS2 SATs a year early, I was looking for a school that would allow me to continue into year 7.

Further to this, the distance learning offered by King’s InterHigh presented a unique solution to issues caused by the frequent, work related, travel of my parents – enabling me to travel with them whilst maintaining a continuity in education impossible when having to change schools.

Enabled by King’s InterHigh’s high performer classes, I was able to finish my IGCSEs at the age of thirteen. I went on to take the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, studying English, Spanish, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Philosophy. Following this I read Physics at Loughborough University, obtaining a Master in Physics with first class honours in 2014, as well as the Loughborough University Development Trust Prize in Physics.

Preparing for a better future…

I am now reading for a doctorate in Physics, looking at the challenges of quantum systems engineering – relating to developing state-of-the-art devices the functionality of which depend fundamentally on quantum-mechanical behaviour.

Not only does this research present interesting scientific challenges, it has the possibility of leading to entirely new devices with capabilities that would be impossible in other technological paradigms.
