My time at King’s InterHigh

Why did you join King's InterHigh, and what has your learning journey with us meant to you?

I joined King’s InterHigh in hopes of finding joy in learning and re-discovering the person I used to be prior to my time in French school.

With these in mind, my learning journey has opened up so many closed doors in my mind: I regained my voice and discovered my passion for subjects that repulsed me when I was in my old school.

This change in behaviour was only possible thanks to all the staff and teachers here at King’s InterHigh who would continuously support us through our learning journey and aid us in gaining self-confidence.

This is all to say that my learning journey here at this online school has enabled me to feel confident and outgoing in my work and has allowed me to develop my independent skills which are crucial for the future.

What are your dreams for the future?

In the future I see myself travelling to Australia after studying to be a veterinary nurse in England. The exotic animals and fun lifestyle offered over there are what entices me the most.

King’s InterHigh has helped me to achieve my ultimate best, which has greatly impacted the image of my future as the teachers have provided their help and advice whilst the coordinators have helped with the process of university applications.

I look forward to travelling to many other countries to provide and apply my hard learnt skills that debuted from this online school. My ultimate dream is to continue to inspire others, live my life to the fullest and be able to make others feel proud of themselves.

What's something you've learned from King's InterHigh that's really helped you personally?

The skill that has stuck with me and that is unique to online learning is independence and the self-confidence that comes with it.

By not having physical teachers constantly running up behind you reminding you constantly to go through your notes, through experience you learn to do it yourself and discover your own independent capacities which you may not even know are within you, and yet they are.

This online school is definitely the way to go if you wish to discover your true abilities when it comes to organisation and keeping on track of things as this is crucial for the future and is a great preparation for it.

VAT charges explained

The UK Government has implemented a policy to charge VAT on independent schools taking effect from the 1st of January 2025. This VAT charge is payable by families who are based in, or access, King’s InterHigh from the UK. This change does not impact families who are based outside the UK and access King’s InterHigh from another country.

We understand the significant financial commitment you make in choosing our online school as well as how important it is to be able to financially plan. After careful review of the details of the legislation, we will support parents by absorbing costs ourselves, so that a slower phasing in of this unwelcome change reduces its financial impact on families.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year (starting September 2024), Inspired Education Group will absorb much of the 20% VAT charge. For the Spring and Summer terms when the 20% VAT will now apply, we will only pass on 8.5% to families, taking up the difference ourselves.

To further support families with the financial implications of this change in government policy, for the 2025-2026 academic year (starting in September 2025) there will be no inflationary tuition fee increases, and that Inspired Education Group will continue to absorb costs to limit the increase to 8.5% for that academic year. Overall, this will mean we have phased in 17% of the 20% VAT cost over two years to avoid sudden increases for families and have not increased tuition fees.

King’s InterHigh is committed to offering competitive fees and accessible, high-quality independent education, along with the unique benefits of online learning. We are pleased that through careful cost control and the benefits of being part of Inspired, the leading global group of premium schools, we can significantly reduce the financial effect on families due to this change in UK VAT policy.
