About this course

Health and wellbeing management online course

City & Guilds assured programme

This course is suitable for learners aged 14 years and above. It is intended to provide an academic introduction to a wide range of issues related to health and wellbeing management. The outcomes are especially supportive to those seeking a future career in the health and wellness sectors but is intended to be appropriate and highly beneficial to all.

The assured courses are studied across two years and were developed by King’s InterHigh. The learner will need to complete two modules in year 10 and two modules in year 11. The certificate consists of 4 mandatory modules. The learner must PASS all four modules to receive the full assured course certificate and digital credential, endorsed by City and Guilds. Assessment is entirely through coursework and is made on a pass/fail basis. The full assured course certificates will be issued to any eligible students by the end of the summer term in year 11.

This assured course is studied across two years and involves 120 hours of guided learning time. Successful completion of all units leads to the award of a course certificate and digital credential. Those completing less than the full course will be eligible for King’s InterHigh unit certification for each unit of work completed.

To pass each module, the learner needs to have enough work submitted to demonstrate passing grades in each Assessment Objective (AOs) shown on the assessment rubric and gain ≥6/12 overall.

  • Students need more than 50% (≥6/12) in each module to pass that module.
  • Students must gain at least 1 point for each Assessment Objective (AO).
  • Zero points (N) in any AO will fail that module even if the student has gained ≥6/12 overall.
  • N – FAIL I – INCOMPLETE P – PASS P+ – PASS PLUS

If the learner has not passed all four modules, they should still be eligible to receive an King’s InterHigh certificate, stating which modules they completed successfully. It will not be the full assured course certificate.
Any King’s InterHigh certificates (that detail modules passed) will be issued to any eligible students by the end of the summer term.

Can the learner work on any missing modules?

If the learner wishes to gain the full assured course certificate, then they will need to work independently and in their own time to work on missing modules. The teacher will not be able to support students after the end of module 4. During module 4, the teacher will need to be focused on students working towards module 4.

Assessment is entirely through coursework and is made on a pass/fail basis.

  • Enhancing aspects of personal well-being
  • Basic life support
  • Demonstrating understanding of influences on adolescent eating patterns in order to make health-enhancing recommendations
  • Demonstrate understanding of the interpersonal skills used to enhance relationships

King’s InterHigh is open for enrolment all year round. We kickstart each student’s online learning experience with a welcoming induction process to make the transition smooth.

VAT charges explained

The UK Government has implemented a policy to charge VAT on independent schools taking effect from the 1st of January 2025. This VAT charge is payable by families who are based in, or access, King’s InterHigh from the UK. This change does not impact families who are based outside the UK and access King’s InterHigh from another country.

We understand the significant financial commitment you make in choosing our online school as well as how important it is to be able to financially plan. After careful review of the details of the legislation, we will support parents by absorbing costs ourselves, so that a slower phasing in of this unwelcome change reduces its financial impact on families.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year (starting September 2024), Inspired Education Group will absorb much of the 20% VAT charge. For the Spring and Summer terms when the 20% VAT will now apply, we will only pass on 8.5% to families, taking up the difference ourselves.

To further support families with the financial implications of this change in government policy, for the 2025-2026 academic year (starting in September 2025) there will be no inflationary tuition fee increases, and that Inspired Education Group will continue to absorb costs to limit the increase to 8.5% for that academic year. Overall, this will mean we have phased in 17% of the 20% VAT cost over two years to avoid sudden increases for families and have not increased tuition fees.

King’s InterHigh is committed to offering competitive fees and accessible, high-quality independent education, along with the unique benefits of online learning. We are pleased that through careful cost control and the benefits of being part of Inspired, the leading global group of premium schools, we can significantly reduce the financial effect on families due to this change in UK VAT policy.
