2025 IGCSE results: Celebrating our students’ successes

By King's InterHigh

This year’s IGCSE results are in, and we’re delighted to share that our students have once again achieved remarkable grades in their exams.

Of course, we’re not just cheering for their academic accomplishments. Beyond the numbers, we’re also celebrating the victories that happened outside the classroom, from success in sports to wellbeing wins. Each young person has their own story, but their stories share one common thread: the power of flexible, personalised, supportive learning.

In celebration of this year’s IGCSE results day, let’s take a look at some of our students’ journeys this year.

Olivia

Congratulations to Olivia on her IGCSE successes, with five 9s and two 8s!

When Olivia dropped out of her traditional school due to her struggles with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), she had low confidence for her academic progress, even worrying that she might never achieve her IGCSE qualifications at all. On the contrary, however, Olivia has achieved remarkable results this year with an education that truly worked for her needs.

The flexibility of having every live lesson recorded meant that Olivia could work at her own pace, and over the past few years, her self-belief in her own potential has flourished. In particular, she’s loved her biology lessons, and she’s looking forward to continuing in that passion with King’s InterHigh for her A Levels.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Olivia: “Joining King's InterHigh has allowed me to access education once again. The flexibility of every lesson being recorded has been so beneficial and the last two years has boosted my confidence in my potential. I am so grateful to all of my amazing teachers, in particular my biology teacher whose lessons I would look forward to each week. I am now hoping to go on to study Biology as one of my A levels here at King's InterHigh in September!”

Harry

Congratulations to Harry on his IGCSE successes, including 9s in six subjects!

The mainstream school environment was never the right fit for Harry, which is why he was homeschooled through his primary school years. But, when it came to secondary school, his mum ran into a problem: teaching a more advanced curriculum and working full time was simply too much to balance.

That’s when the family discovered King’s InterHigh and when Harry finally found a school that worked perfectly for him, from a learning style that suited his pace to more free time for his hobbies . Studying with us since Year 7, Harry has achieved wonderful grades this results day that are sure to set him up for his next steps: studying A Levels with the goal of taking on an apprenticeship in civil engineering.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Harry: “King’s InterHigh has helped me achieve a huge amount during the course of my education. I struggled severely during primary school. However, after joining King’s InterHigh that changed dramatically. The unique options provided by an online school allowed me to finally learn in a way which I could benefit from as opposed to being forced into something that just doesn’t work for me. My self-motivation when it comes to learning has also been helped hugely by King’s InterHigh as the online style, while requiring more independence and commitment than a regular school, allows me much more flexibility with how I learn each subject.”

Corina

Congratulations to Corina on her IGCSE successes, achieving grades 9 to 7 in five subjects!

Born in Spain and raised in the US from age six, Corina’s life took a new turn when her family decided to move to Mexico back in 2023. That’s when she and her brother joined King’s InterHigh, and when Corina began to discover more about herself, her unique strengths, and her goals for the future.

With dreams of becoming a sustainable design engineer or medical engineer one day, Corina says King’s InterHigh has given her more opportunities to start paving a pathway to her ambitions. Whether she’s working hard on her studies or taking time out for her passions, like baking and aerial dance, Corina has become an independent and proactive young learner.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Corina: “I loved learning at King’s InterHigh because it helped me grow in a way that I wouldn’t have been able to grow otherwise. I started to focus more on my future and my goals and ambitions became clearer as well as starting to push myself further than before. Through King’s InterHigh I have gotten many opportunities to prepare for my future and start building my curriculum. I became more independent and proactive. Even though I struggled at first, learning online and with a different curriculum, I loved my classes and all the friends I made at King’s InterHigh. Furthermore, it helped me grow into the person I am today, and I am infinitely grateful for the experience it gave me.”

Dhruv

Congratulations to Dhruv on his IGCSE successes, including six 9s!

Dhruv first joined King’s InterHigh back in 2020 in search of a more supportive virtual learning environment, and he quickly found that online schooling was the perfect fit for him. With a big increase in flexibility, Dhruv was able to work at his own pace and manage his own time, which has given him a huge boost in both confidence and independence.

Beyond flexibility, one of the biggest highlights of King’s InterHigh for Dhruv has been our supportive community, “especially during the stressful exam season.” Alongside teachers keeping him motivated and focused, learning with global classmates also gave Dhruv a rare opportunity to “connect with like-minded students and make friends from across the world.”

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Dhruv: “The flexibility of online learning has allowed me to manage my time effectively and work at my own pace, which has significantly boosted my confidence and independence. Over time, it has allowed me to balance my studies with my personal interests and future aspirations. Online learning has also given me the opportunity to connect with like-minded students and make friends from across the world. Most importantly, the supportive environment, especially during a stressful exam season, has helped me stay motivated and focused throughout my academic journey. As a result, I feel well prepared to take the next step towards my A Levels and future ambitions.”

Isabelle

Congratulations to Isabelle on her IGCSE successes, including two 9s and two 8s!

Before Isabelle joined King’s InterHigh, she had a difficult time in mainstream education. “It felt like no one there believed in me or what I was capable of,” she says, recalling that she often missed lessons, felt low in confidence, and was predicted to achieve 2s and 3s in her exams.

Thankfully, London-based Isabelle now says that “joining King’s InterHigh completely changed that.” In an online school community where she was uplifted by encouraging teachers, Isabelle’s confidence began to grow as she realised how much she could achieve. This week, she was moved to tears by her outstanding results, which have opened to door to a bright future ahead.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Isabelle: “Thanks to King’s InterHigh, I’ve been able to achieve results that I once thought were completely out of reach. When I opened my results, I burst into tears because I achieved grades my old school made me feel were impossible to achieve. My whole family was so proud of me, and that made everything even more special. For me, that was the biggest achievement of all: proving to myself, my family, and everyone who doubted me that I could succeed. At King’s InterHigh, I always felt supported, and the belief my teachers had in me gave me the confidence to keep pushing. These results have opened the door for me to continue my journey into criminology, psychology, and law, and I’ll always be grateful that King’s InterHigh gave me the chance to turn things around.”

Pietro

Congratulations to Pietro on his IGCSE successes, including three 9s and two 8s!

At 16, Pietro has already lived a truly international life. Born in Italy and fluent in three languages, he spent part of his childhood at international schools in Switzerland, developing a global mindset that made the King’s InterHigh community a great fit.

When Pietro first joined us in Year 10, he was looking for something that those traditional international schools couldn’t offer: the flexibility to balance his academic goals with his football training. Soon, however, he found that online learning was also a great way to truly challenge himself as a learner and build crucial skills for school, sports, and beyond (from resilience to independence to confidence). Now, as he goes forward into the next stage of his education, Pietro is perfectly primed to “continue building on this balance between school and sport, using what I have learned to prepare for future challenges, both in the classroom and on the field.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Pietro: “Thanks to King’s InterHigh, I have been able to achieve a balance between my academic goals and my passion for football — something that was much harder to manage in a traditional school setting. The flexibility of online learning has given me the chance to dedicate the necessary time to my training while still keeping up with a rigorous academic programme. Beyond academics and sport, King’s InterHigh has also provided a welcoming community where I have been able to connect with classmates from different backgrounds and cultures, which has made my learning experience even more enriching. Overall, online learning has allowed me to grow not only as a student but also as a person, giving me the confidence to pursue my ambitions both inside and outside the classroom.”

Ernesto

Congratulations to Ernesto on his IGCSE successes, with 9s, 8s, and 7s across the board!

When Ernesto joined King’s InterHigh in Year 7, he expected his time with online learning to end when the pandemic ended. But, as he settled into our community and learning environment, he quickly began to appreciate advantages he never expected. Fewer distractions meant better learning, increased independence improved his self-motivation, and all the time he saved on commuting gave him space for new hobbies like going to the gym and video editing.

Perhaps most importantly, Ernesto learned how to create an effective routine that balanced his schoolwork with his social life and personal interests. This skill proved especially valuable during IGCSE revision, when he could manage his workload without feeling overwhelmed because he knew when to work hard and when to rest.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Ernesto: “I've thoroughly enjoyed the ways in which this online school has enabled me to learn independently at a young age and begin to teach myself how to learn and think. Furthermore, attending school remotely has allowed me to travel, learn about new cultures and explore many places around the world, which would not have been possible in a normal school.”

Govind

Congratulations to Govind on his IGCSE successes, including a top grade of 9 in six subjects!

When Govind made the move to virtual learning during the pandemic, he was initially unsure about how well it would work for him. However, he soon realised that studying online gave him more time and freedom to research, understand, and master new ideas. That’s when he decided to make the move to King’s InterHigh in 2021.

Since then, our online school community has been the perfect place for Govind to focus on his studies and pursue his passions in chess, cricket, and gardening. Online school has even given him more time for leisure activities like reading and playing video games with his friends, all while achieving outstanding results. We can’t wait to see Govind continue to pursue his passion for maths in his A Levels at King’s InterHigh next year, where he’s sure to go far.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Govind: “My teachers at King’s InterHigh have been amazing and have provided constant support and encouragement that has allowed me to perform at my best. They have always been available for queries and support, and I am very grateful to them. Online learning has allowed me to achieve my academic goals with an ease that I didn’t think possible before. Contrary to popular belief, my confidence has improved as I have been able to gain several new experiences outside the classroom since I could travel and participate in different activities without compromising on my academic goals.”

Emily

Congratulations to Emily on her IGCSE successes: 9s and 8s across the board!

Like many students, Emily first studied online five years ago during the pandemic. That’s when she realised that a more flexible, personalised style of education was the key to reaching her full potential. And, unlike the remote learning that students experienced at many traditional schools, King’s InterHigh was able to offer Emily a full school experience with all the innovation and support of an online environment!

Since joining King’s InterHigh, Emily says she’s thrived: not only in her learning, but also in her personal wellbeing. In particular, her teachers are one of her biggest highlights at the school. “The teachers have gone above and beyond to provide me with the necessary support both inside and out of lesson time,” says Emily.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Emily: “King’s InterHigh has allowed me to thrive academically. Not only this, but the flexible nature of the school and abundant opportunities built into the timetable have given me the opportunity to discover myself, my passions and my interests. Choosing to study online has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!”

Amy

Congratulations to Amy on her IGCSE successes, including 8 in English Literature and a 7 in English Language!

When Amy’s mental health began to decline at traditional secondary school, her world outside school became smaller too. By the time she left the mainstream classroom, she could barely attend lessons at all and couldn’t leave her house without severe distress.

Thankfully, Amy’s family found King’s InterHigh in 2022, and that’s when everything began to change. Since studying IGCSEs in English Literature, Double Award Science, Business Studies, and Psychology with us, Amy has found her passion in understanding the mind and dreams of one day becoming an educational psychologist.

Better yet, she’s had a remarkable transformation outside school too. Once too anxious to step outside, Amy now happily goes horse riding, attends choir, enjoys shopping trips, and spends time with friends. After her success in Year 11, Amy is looking forward to A Levels at King’s InterHigh this year as she works towards her goal of studying psychology at university.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Amy: “It has completely turned me around. Both me and the people around me can see how much I've blossomed and how my mental and physical health and general wellbeing have improved since I joined the school. I am still definitely an introvert, but since joining King’s InterHigh, I am much more confident to leave the house… which I was not able to do in a bricks and mortar school.”

Kai

Congratulations to Kai on his IGCSE successes, including 9s in History and Spanish!

Kai’s journey with King’s InterHigh started four years ago in 2021, when he and his family were looking for a better school pathway during the pandemic. Over the years, Kai says one of things he loved most about learning online with us was our community.

With a “big shoutout” to his art, film, and history teachers in particular, Kai says the teaching he experienced at King’s InterHigh was more supportive and more high-quality than anything he experienced at traditional school. Plus, he made some amazing friends along the way!

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Kai: “I have really enjoyed my four fabulous years here being taught by some fantastic teachers, who have really helped guide me in my learning journey, and meeting some awesome friends along the way. The quality of teaching has always been really high, and the teachers have always been there for me, helping me throughout my studies. The teaching standards have been incredible, and I've never experienced that at a bricks and mortar school — I'll miss the amazing school trips! I am really pleased about the results that I've gotten with my GCSEs and will always remember my time here with great fondness.”

Tudor

Congratulations to Tudor on his IGCSE successes, including 8 in Maths and 6 in Computer Science!

Tudor is only 17 years old, but he’s already made a bigger leap than many adults make in their lives: moving to a different country to pursue his dreams. Relocating from Romania to Denmark to play for a professional football club meant adapting to a new country, language, and culture, and he’d still need to keep up with his studies.

That’s why Tudor chose King’s InterHigh back in 2024. Studying Computer Science, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and English Language with us, he’s been able to balance the demands of football training and engage his analytical mind with high-quality education. Currently making waves as an under-19 player, he’s sure to be winning trophies among the best footballers one day.

What have you been able to achieve thanks to King’s InterHigh?

Tudor: “King's InterHigh has played a key role in my being able to make a seamless transition into life as a young professional sportsman overseas. Online schooling gave me the flexibility and stability that I required at this significant point in my life. It enabled me to keep up with my studies without having to compromise on my football training schedule, and perhaps most importantly, it gave me a stable academic routine during a time of massive upheaval. Thanks to this flexible way of learning, I've been able to integrate successfully into my new life in Denmark while still performing at the highest level in both my sporting and academic career.”

The best exam outcomes happen when students can learn around their individual needs, without rigid systems that stifle their success. Whether your child wants to get top grades around their ambitions outside school or they simply need a learning environment that fits them as a unique individual, King’s InterHigh is the school where they can thrive in their IGCSEs and beyond.

By King's InterHigh

King’s InterHigh is an independent British international online school. Offering Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form education, we cater to students from age 7 – 18 who are looking for a high quality British education delivered in a way that revolves around their lifestyle.

In this article:

VAT charges explained

The UK Government has implemented a policy to charge VAT on independent schools taking effect from the 1st of January 2025. This VAT charge is payable by families who are based in, or access, King’s InterHigh from the UK. This change does not impact families who are based outside the UK and access King’s InterHigh from another country.

We understand the significant financial commitment you make in choosing our online school as well as how important it is to be able to financially plan. After careful review of the details of the legislation, we will support parents by absorbing costs ourselves, so that a slower phasing in of this unwelcome change reduces its financial impact on families.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year (starting September 2024), Inspired Education Group will absorb much of the 20% VAT charge. For the Spring and Summer terms when the 20% VAT will now apply, we will only pass on 8.5% to families, taking up the difference ourselves.

To further support families with the financial implications of this change in government policy, for the 2025-2026 academic year (starting in September 2025) there will be no inflationary tuition fee increases, and that Inspired Education Group will continue to absorb costs to limit the increase to 8.5% for that academic year. Overall, this will mean we have phased in 17% of the 20% VAT cost over two years to avoid sudden increases for families and have not increased tuition fees.

King’s InterHigh is committed to offering competitive fees and accessible, high-quality independent education, along with the unique benefits of online learning. We are pleased that through careful cost control and the benefits of being part of Inspired, the leading global group of premium schools, we can significantly reduce the financial effect on families due to this change in UK VAT policy.
